I recently read a blog article from Professor Tim Kastelle http://timkastelle.org/blog/2010/02/grit-versus-intelligence-in-innovation/ called: “Grit vs intelligence in innovation”. It made me think about a few issues in particular.
Firstly, I asked myself “how did I discover innovation?” very broadly speaking. I realized that the answer was through hard work (or grit as described by Tim). I too had go through a series of “life experiences” in order to discover my creative self.
For me, grit meant living in different countries getting a university education whilst supporting a family economically and living far from loved ones. Ultimately, this hard work paid off by allowing me to expand upon my life experience with empirical knowledge and then to apply it professionally at work.
Through these series of experiences, I met a lot of smart people, inspiring people, innovative people and effective people. Through these people I discovered www.ted.com , I attended seminars about innovation, I networked with talented individuals in the digital industry, I learnt about how to work in a smarter manner as compared to my hard grit years and most of all, I became inspired.
This inspiration lead me to make a decision to be an entrepreneur, an innovator and a success at these things. Souitaris (et. Al., 2006) in their study of entrepreneurship education programs and the effect of learning, inspiration and resources, concluded that inspiration was the most significant factor in learning about entrepreneurship and influencing the entrepreneurial intention.
Hopefully, through The Orakul we can inspire some big things in Chile, influence success stories and contribute to the growth of creative processes.
I feed more inspired after writing this..!!

inspiraradores, personas innovadoras y gente efectiva.
